Cyclist to flock to Ballinrobe on August 8th and 9th 

With the Tour De France nearly over and Ireland’s young Nicolas Roche riding for the AG2R team putting in a storming performance in his first ever appearance cycling is really in the spot light, remember it was only a month ago that Nicolas struggled to beat Mayo’s own David O Loughlin.

Like the Tour De France the Ballinrobe 2 day is a stage race with 3 stages over the 2 days there will be plenty of racing for all the participants.

B&B and restaurants in the area will be busy over the weekend which will help stem the recession.

This year we are changing the routes to spice up the racing so that regulars don’t get complacent. Stage 1 is 90k taking 5 climbs around Tourmakeady, Maam and Clonbur so a really good day for the climbers, Sunday Morning has 2 stages with a 8K Time trial from Kilamine to Ballinrobe and the Afternoon Stage 3 will be 2 laps on the Cross, Headford, Shrule, Ballinrobe circuit.
