Anyone interested in taking up the sport of cycling in the south Mayo/north Galway region can have no excuse over the Christmas period – the local cycling club are holding daily spins every day.

Western Lakes CC have announced that spins will depart from Cornmarket, Ballinrobe, at 10am each day over Christmas, including Christmas morning.

“Our Christmas morning spin is a great tradition in the club, and it is one of the most enjoyable spins of the year. We don’t go too far, but everybody is in good form, and looking forward to the festivities,” explained club member Padraig Marrey.

“If anyone would like to take up cycling, they can join the club on any of the spins over Christmas. Just be in Cornmarket at 10am every morning, and there will always be some club members going out.

“It is important to bring a helmet and a properly-functioning bicycle, but anyone with problem regarding equipment or gear can contact any club member.”
