Connacht road racing season

The Connacht road racing season kicks off on Sunday the 14th of March in Ballinrobe with the first round of the Mayo league, sign on is open from 9.30am at the cycling centre on the Kilmaine road.

Race starts proper at 10.30am at Tesco car park on the Claremorris road, where Connacht Cycling officials will imply a handicap system so that every cyclist has a chance to get up in the results.

The race continues to Claremorris turning left in the centre of the town for Castlebar, 28k later the race turns left again in Castlebar for Ballinrobe, the race finishes at the top of the drag approaching the Race course on the Castlebar road approx 2k from Ballinrobe, this is the safe finish. The total distance is 75k

The race is open to all categories from U16 up to senior (A1,,A2,A3,A4) and club racing. People with leisure licenses can not race in this event not unless they take out a one day license.

Round 2 is on Tuesday the 13th of April Westport

Round 3 is on Sunday the 25th of April Castlebar

Round 4 is on Sunday the 16th of May Bohola

Round 5 is on Tuesday the 1st of June TBA

Western Lakes / Westport CC League

The first round of the Western Lakes / Westport CC league kicks of on Thursday March 25th with a 10 mile TT on the Ballyglass road Ballinrobe, sign open at 5.30 first rider of at 6.15pm

Round 2 is Thursday April 15th Tourmakeady (HC)

Round 3 is Thursday April 22nd Westport (RR)

Round 4 is Thursday May 13th Ballinrobe(RR)

Round 5 is Wednesday June 16th The Neale (RR)

Round 6 is Thursday July 15th Renvyle (RR)

Round 7 is Thursday July 22nd Carlistraine (RR)

Round 8 is Thursday August 12th Westport (RR)

Round 9 is Thursday August 26th Ballinrobe (TT)

Round 10 is Thursday September 9th Tourmakeady (HC)
