In-form Marrey adds Connacht Time Trial title

PADRAIG Marrey’s run of good form continued when he won the Connacht Time Trial Championship on the Knock-Claremorris By-pass last week.

Marrey, riding in the colours of Western Lakes Cycling Club, have just over a minute to spare over Simon Coughlan of Donamon. The event was over 25 miles was organised by the Connacht Federation.

The other winners on the night were John James Flaherty (Senior 2, Western Lakes), Ray Glynn (Senior 3, Galway), Martin Munroe (Junior, Western Lakes), Jim McCullagh (Veterans, Donamon), Dervail Devanney (Senior women, Castlebar Cycling Club), and Mary Brennan (Junior women, Castlebar Cycling Club.)

Senior 1: 1st Padraig Marrey, Western Lakes, 55.40; 2nd Simon Coughlan, Donamon, 56.44; 3rd Jay Daly, Realt Tuam, 58.01; 4th Michael Devins, Unattached, 58.16;

Senior 2: JJ Flaherty, Western Lakes, 1.02.50;

Senior 3: Ray Glynn, Galway, 1.03.57;

Junior: Martin Munroe, Western Lakes, 56.58;

Veteran: Jim McCullagh, Donamon, 59.04;

Senior Women: Dervail Devanney, Castlebar, 39.22;

Junior Women: Mary Brennan, Castlebar, 26.33.
