Scott Sprints to victory

Young Ryan Scott from Westport beat all the seniors to win Round 4 of Covey / Western League.

Ryan started off in group 2 and held his nerve to win a 12 person bunch gallop.

Big numbers again signed on with 40 cyclist on the line for the 22mile race from Westport to Old head and back route.

Group 2 had a 6 minute H’cap and made full use of it by working together so that neither group 3 or 4 came close to catching them.

With the standard improving with every outing the scratch men are constantly having to up their average speed if they want to have a chance of catching the limit groups up ahead.

Jarlath Togher from Cong now leads the league on 105 pts, but one slip and he could find himself down the leader board again.
