WESTERN Lakes cyclist Eamon Marrey had a very good outing in the Brendan Carroll Memorial Cup at Stamullen, Co.Meath, on Saturday evening.

Eamon finished third in the Senior C race after an excellent ride, and also won a Prime during the race. On Sunday, the Stamullen GP was held and mechanical trouble hindered Eamon’s bid for a victory.

Martin Munroe, Western Lakes, also rode over the weekend, and finished second in the junior races on both days.

The next outing for members of the club is the Corkman 3-day in Kanturk, Co. Cork, over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Anyone interested in taking up cycling, either leisure or competitive, should contact any member of the Western Lakes club, or join the weekly Sunday morning spins at 10o’c from Cornmarket, Ballinrobe. The club always welcomes newcomers.
