Liam fares well in international race

 WESTERN Lakes Cycling Club rider Liam McNeill finished an excellent 5th in the U13 section of the Youth Tour in Killorglin, Co. Kerry, at the weekend.

 With teams competing from South Africa, Belgium, Scotland, Englsh, Wales, Switzerland and Ireland, this was an outstanding performance by McNeill, who was riding for the Connacht team in the event. The event featured four demanding stages and tested all riders to the full.

 Another Connacht rider, Enda Scanlon of Sligo CC, finished 11th overall. The team officials were Brendan Butler and William Connolly, both members of the Western Lakes club.

 Cathal Daly and Diarmuid Woods, both of the Western Lakes club, also rode well and the experience should stand to them. The Connacht team also included Eoin Joyce, West Coast Wheelers.
